How can you find out about CERT events?
Several have indicated that they do not know about any of the upcoming events Navarre CERT has been asked to participate in. There are several ways you can check. One way is to click on the "CERT Calendar" link in the main menu. All upcoming events and meetings are publicized there. Additionally, events that are coming up in the next 30 days will appear above under the title "Upcoming Navarre CERT Events".
Next, and perhaps more important, Navarre CERT members should check the "Members Only" section regularly. This is done by clicking on the "Login" button at the top of this webpage. If you have problems accessing this, please email the Webmaster through the "Contact Us" link in the main menu. Finally, if you are unsure if we are participating in an event, you can always email the CERT President also found through the "Contact Us" link in the main menu.

The FEMA Individual and Community Preparedness Division and the National CERT Office jointly publish the CERT E-Brief. This E-Brief informs readers about CERT programs and volunteers throughout the country and provides other useful information. The latest E-Brief (September 2014) talks about some lessons learned by CERT teams from activation during Hurricane Sandy.

Are YOU Prepared?
FEMA has a helpful guide of how you can prepare for hurricanes. Hurricane season runs from June through November. While forecasters predict a quiet season, all it takes is one storm to make it a bad one. To read how you can prepare for a hurricane, click here.
